Everything we sell
is measured
in microns.
Factory clearcoat, a ceramic coating and paint protection film are nowhere near the same thickness. Drawn to scale below, that difference is the whole reason one of them stops a stone and the other one does not.

Factory clearcoat
40 to 50 µm
All the gloss the car left the factory with. Correction removes it permanently, and it does not grow back.
Ceramic Pro coating
2 to 3 µm
A layer over the clearcoat, not a replacement for it. A coating locks in whatever is underneath, which is why the paint is corrected before it is sealed.
KAVACA paint protection film
200 µm
Self-healing urethane, four to five times the depth of the clearcoat it covers. This is the layer that takes the stone instead of the panel.
Correction removes clearcoat permanently.
Protection does not.
